Vince scored the winning touchdown on a fourth-and-five from the USC 8 yard line. He made it look easy.

Texas won its first National Championship since 1970.

Vince Young rushed for 200 yards in the Rose Bowl game, and scored three rushing touchdowns and a two point conversion.

Vince certainly got all the glory, but it was the Texas defense that made a critical stop on fourth and two on USC's last possession that was truly responsible for the win. They intercepted Matt Leinart once in the endzone (and had another interception that was incorrectly called an incomplete pass), they sacked Leinart 3 times. They stopped the Trojans on two fourth down plays. Most impressive, the Texas secondary shut down USC's passing game for the most part, pushing Leinart into one of his worst performances of his career.

Meanwhile, Vince Young was named player of the game...

and the Texas Longhorns were named National Champions. Tens of thousands of fans stayed for the presentation of the trophy.
